The case is similar to the M1956 first aid/compass case but made of nylon.

The case is fabricated of Army shade 106 olive green water repellent treated nylon duck. It is 8 1/2 inches long with the flap open, 4 1/2 inches wide, and forms a 4 inches deep pocket. It has a snap fastener closure and is attached to the belt by an interlocking slide keeper.
