The insulated extreme cold weather boot is for wear in extreme cold weather climates (down to -60°F).

Design

The boot shall be white blucher type, rigid non-slip sole and heel (outsole), with eyelets and nylon laces. The boot shall have a smooth finish and shall be made from materials that are flexible, waterproof, and chemical resistant. The boot shall be resistant to mold and fungus growth.

The boot shall incorporate an air valve on the outside upper boot to relieve pressure when airborne and to check boots for leakage. The valve shall be a manually operated valve making a water and airtight seal when closed.

The insulation material shall be suitable to meet the minimum clo value requirement below.
