Extreme Cold Weather Trigger Finger Mitten Liner

The trigger finger mitten liner is an inner mitten designed to be worn in combination with a mitten shell in extreme cold weather environments. The trigger finger design enables the wearer to move their first finger independently from the rest of the hand. The liner is part of a system that includes a waterproof full mitten shell, or trigger finger mitten shell conforming to type I and type II of MIL-DTL-32707. The liner can be worn over a glove insert if desired.

Design

The mitten liner consists of the following:

  • the outside shell is constructed from a water repellent 70 denier nylon ripstop conforming to MIL-DTL-32699 and a water repellent goatskin leather trigger finger.
  • Grip material is sewn at the fingertips on the outside of the nylon ripstop.
  • The mitten liner is insulated on the front and the back of the hand, and the outer thumb. The inside cuff and trigger finger is lined with napped wool French terry; the lining used on the front of the hand, back of the hand, and the inner and outer thumb is a napped wool lay-in.
  • Each liner has an attached cuff.
  • The liner has a label to identify the item, its size, its use, and care.
