Arctic Sleeping Bag
The M-1942 arctic sleeping bag consists of two down and feather filled cases for use in extreme low temperatures. The inner bag is mummy shaped. A full length zipper is used to close the quilt shaped outer bag. A waterproof wrap case, having flaps and tie tapes, is provided for carrying both rolled bags. [1]

Variant
There is also being issued under the same stock number an BAG, SLEEPING, ARCTIC, consists of two mummy shaped down and feather filled bag: inner casing and outer casing; water repellent case for mountain sleeping bag, and waterproof cover, for use in extreme low temperatures. The mountain sleeping bag is used as the inner bag, and the outer bag is of similar design and construction and is closed with snaps. The two bags may be tied together by means of the tie tapes at the foot of each bag. A waterproof cover, conforming to QMC spec PQD No. 229, is provided to protect the bag. [4][5][6]
