Army regulation 670-1 prescribes the authorization for wear, composition, and classification of uniforms, and the occasions for wearing all personal (clothing bag issue), optional, and commonly worn organizational Army uniforms. It also prescribes the awards, insignia, and accouterments authorized for wear on the uniform, and how these items are worn.General information is also provided on the authorized material, design, and uniform quality control system.
FM 4-25.11: First Aid
Field manual 4-25.11 meets the first aid training needs of individual service members. Because medical personnel will not always be readily available, the nonmedical service members must rely heavily on their own skills and knowledge of life-sustaining methods to survive on the integrated battlefield. This publication outlines both self-aid and aid to other service members (buddy aid). More importantly, it emphasizes prompt and effective action in sustaining life and preventing or minimizing further suffering and disability. First aid is the emergency care given to the sick, injured, or wounded before being treated by medical personnel. The term first aid can be defined as 'urgent and immediate lifesaving and other measures, which can be performed for casualties by nonmedical personnel when medical personnel are not immediately available.'
FM 21-11: First Aid for Soldiers
Field manual 21-11 provides the basic fundamentals of first aid care and treatment which you can apply to yourself or to another soldier before the arrival of trained medical personnel.It includes instructions in first aid measures to take for special injuries such as chest and belly wounds; common emergencies, such as snake bite and drowning; injuries resulting from contact with chemicals, such as war gases and propellant fuels and oxidizers; and how to transport the sick and wounded so as not to aggravate their condition or endanger their life.
